We were tasked with creating a new medical assessment centre and associated function areas within an existing unit in the Menai Shopping Centre. This involved the full strip out of the unit and installation of panels to form a new internal layout. We also installed new tea point areas, bathrooms, and flooring as well as decorating the new space throughout. Essential M&E upgrade works including new lighting, sockets and pipework were also carried out to modernise the space.
Transforming a former retail unit into a space suitable for medical assessments, required a number of specialist adaptations, such as the removal and replacement of privacy vinyl on interior windows, and installing new birch veneer solid core doors to meet acoustic requirements. To ensure compliance with building control requirements, we installed illuminated statutory signage. We also installed external wall mounted signage detailing opening hours, and wayfinding guidance.
Works include
M&E Upgrade • Remodelling • Installation of Lighting & Pipework • Installation of New Bathrooms • External Signage • Doors & Flooring
The unit was within a busy shopping centre, making it a challenging live environment to work in. Issues such as access, noise, dust, and coordinating deliveries with other tenants and Centre managers meant that careful planning and communication were critical. In addition, the project had a tight timescale, so we carried out thorough pre-construction planning to ensure that resources were used in the most effective way, and we avoided delays by implementing a detailed procurement schedule.
